THE FATHER’S THOUGHTS TOWARDS HIS FAMILIES

“For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. [Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)].

Our heavenly Father’s thoughts towards us have always been good and will always be good. His goodness and mercies follow His families always. Therefore, as in the beginning, during the six days of creation, everything God created He pronounced to be good [Genesis 1: 1-31] and He rested on the seventh day. However, sin through man’s disobedience brought disorder, lack, chaos, divisions, pain, hurt, strife etc into our individuals as well as family lives.

In this dispensation families seem to be experiencing quite a lot: strife, hatred, jealousies, envy and all kinds of meltdowns seem to be the order of the day, all these scenarios constantly work at eroding the Father’s thoughts of peace towards us and deposited in our hearts and spirits. This precious gift of God to humanity through the Prince of Peace [Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)] brings the peace of God that passes all understanding [Philippians 4:7] into being in our precious families.

So that through the Holy Spirit, the word of God (the truth of God) which does not return to Him void except it accomplishes it purpose – “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it [Isaiah 55:11(KJV) becomes yea and amen and is planted, established and produces fruit in our families. “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. [2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV)]. To accomplish all these our families, need to be wholly led by the Holy Spirit. “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” [Romans 8:14 (KJV)].”

The peace of God within us is an affirmation of the promise of God that even when the afflictions of righteous families are so much, the LORD delivers His families from them all [Psalm 34:19]. As we battle for the restoration of families, the scripture in [2 Chronicles 14] reveals that God is not impressed by numbers or intimidated by show of force once He decides to help any man, family or families, community or communities, even a nation or nations in the time of trouble. [2 Chronicles 14:11 (MSG)].

So that even as boisterous forms of storms buffet families in these times, what we must do is cry to God our Helper (our ever-present help in time of need) for help just as Peter cried to Jesus saying, “LORD save me” [Matthew 14:30] as he was sinking. A cry to Abba Father for help, brings about salvation and mercy as well as manifests and establish His thoughts of peace in our families and homes. And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” [Mark 4:39(KJV)].

By establishing His thoughts in us we become equipped and empowered in the Father’s protective custody to arrive at His expected end. For it is written “…My thoughts are not your thoughts neither are your ways My ways, declares the LORD as the heavens are higher than the earth so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” [Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV)]

To attain this higher ways or heights in our family relationships and development, we must lay down our weaknesses at the feet of Jehovah the God of the families., ask Him to help lift our families to the Rock that is Higher than us. As the Psalmist did ask God to “Hear my cry, O God; Listen to my prayer. From the end of the earth I call to You, when my heart overwhelmed and weak; lead me to the Lead me to the rock that is higher than I [a rock that is too high to reach without Your help].” [Psalm 61:1-2 (AMP).

The text [Matthew 14:22-33 (KJV)] below captures and picturises a manifestation of Abba Father’s thought towards His families in [Jeremiah 29:11] we see that our heavenly Father does not want any evil to befall His families on earth.

22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God. [Matthew 14:22-33 (KJV)].

Hence, our expected end in our various families is therefore a complete manifestation of God’s master plan, purpose and vison for our individual and family lives through worship. This prepares, our families to meet the need to become a blessing to one another, for it is written “…and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” [Genesis 12:3c (KJV)]. So that Abba Father’s families can become the salt of the earth by sharing God’s love one with the other, looking out for one another’s good at times like these not looking to be better than the other. For it is written “look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. [Philippians 2:4 (KJV)].

For the thought of God towards our families is for us to be channels of hope to other families of the earth; how do we achieve this? We do this by being the salt of the earth. For it is written “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” [Matthew 5:13 (KJV)]. As Abba Father’s families on earth, we ought not to “owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” [Romans 13:8(KJV)]. So that the families of God are meant to bring joy to the one another and to the One who is Jehovah the God of all families and we shall be His people. For it is written that “at the same time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be MY people. [Jeremiah 33:1 (KJV)],” also bearing in mind that “except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.”

God bless you. Shalom.
